The Postpartum Doula fills an important role in today's family culture. The Postpartum Doula’s job is to make the transition to parenthood easier for new parents, to help the mother during their recovery period, to ascertain what the family needs help with and provide the instruction and support in order that the family has the skills to care for themselves and the newborn even when the doula is not there.
Statistics show that families who have support during the postpartum period tend to have lower rates of postpartum mood disorders, breastfeed for a longer duration, have deeper bonds with the baby and their partner, and make a better adjustment to parenthood.
This 2 day training is the first step towards certification.
